2023-02-10 Firenze, Italy, 3 weeks

In this blog I write about my trip to Florence/Firenze, Italy, with my friend Mieke.
We set out on many an adventure already. We are very well matched and enjoy the same activities in the same pace. Nice and quiet. That is why 3 weeks Firenze is definitely not too long. WATCH OUT: the first day starts at the bottom.

2023 February: 11th

First we made a plan. We had studied a few – off the beaten path – guide books with nice walks. We started out on walk nr. 1.

We got side-tracked right away by the tourist office who gave us a different idea and we ended up visiting “Cappelle Medicee” and were so blown away with it that nothing else fitted in our brain.

2023 February: 9th and 10th

The 9th we are leaving for Italy with a stop-over in Weil am Rhein, southern Germany on the Swiss border next to Basel.

First about 600km to Weil am Rhein and then on throught the Swiss Alps another 600km roughly to Firenze.

We dropped of the car in a large parking lot, Parcheggio Villa Costanza just outside of the city, with a great tram station right there and a mere €7 a day fee. The tram ride took us in 20 minutes to the main station, Santa Maria Novella, and from there a bus just a few steps to our nice AirB&B apartment.

Our apartment is very nice. With a great view of the Duomo (through some scaffolds)

After checking out the place we set out on our first exploration.
First thing we found was our hang-out for these 3 weeks.
2 doors away an incredible ‘snack’bar with the best biological food and wines.

After that a stroll through our amazing neighborhood
